Hours of work: Typical hours of work are from 8:30 AM until 5:30 PM (local time). Additional hours may be necessary as needed. This position is exempt from overtime.


Overview:
Human Resources are the fuel that keeps InVita moving into the future. InVita is looking for a qualified, ethical, and organized Human Resources Generalist to oversee the daily functions of the Human Resource department with a focus on both the US and Canadian lines of business. This candidate will play an enormously important and supportive role within the Human Resources department.

Essential Functions:
  • Support Recruitment efforts including but not limited to: reviewing resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, facilitating the hiring for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and people managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Human Resources Manager.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a college diploma, preferably in Human Resources or Business or other related disciplines, or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or relevant work experience.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience in human resources generalist or administrator roles.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of the DOL rules and other related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS system.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Ability to travel to customer sites.
  • Ability to travel on a flexible schedule. Airplane travel is necessary.
